What the Kazakhstan numbers say

• From welded tube, circular, non-alloy at 316 USD per tonne to narrow coated strip at 1,103 is a 3.5× range, and in a landlocked market a meaningful part of it is inland freight rather than product.
• Hot-rolled bar is 27 % of the tonnage imported, a concentration that reflects both distance and duty rather than preference.
• Lanes are concentrated — Russia holds 89 % of the top five on that heading, which is what tariff-free EAEU access looks like in the numbers.
• On coated sheet (galvanized and painted) the gap between 741 paid and 959 received is 218 USD, wide enough that transport costs are doing most of the work.
